There are various Medicaid programs which are available to the residents of Kentucky. Kentuckian can choose from the programs listed below.

  • Early Periodic Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment Services (EPSDT) Program

    EPSDT is children Medicaid program which is federally recognized. It is categorized into -

  • Kentucky Children's Health Insurance Plan (KCHIP)

    KCHIP is implemented for younger children below 19 years od age, who are not covered under any health insurance and their family income is below 200% of the federal poverty level.

  • Kentucky Transitions

    Services to offer assistance to individuals who to opt to make a transition from Medicaid-funded long-term care settings (ICFs/MR and nursing facilities) into the community.

  • Kentucky Women's Cancer Screening Program

    The program covers uninsured women who are examined by the Kentucky's Women's Cancer Screening Program and discovered to require treatment for cervical, breast or a precancerous condition.

  • Medicaid Works

    The program is available to working individuals with disabilities.

  • Medicare Savings Plan Program

Kentucky department of public health oversees and manages the collection, and distribution of public health and vital statistics data. The department works concurrently with other state and local agencies to provide technical assistance to users to procure the vital records, sort and solve problems and upgrade to meet the emerging health trends.

Vital Records


The office of Vital Statistics maintains a uniform system of registration and manages all certified copies of vital records and all related events registered in Kentucky. Records of marriages or divorces that happened before 1958 are not maintained by the Kentucky Office of Vital Statistics.

All records of marriages that happened before June 1958 may be inquired from the county clerk in the county where the marriage license was offered. For divorce certificates before June 1958, the circuit county clerk where the divorce decree was granted may be contacted.

The birth and death records of the entire state prior to 1911 and 1911-1957 death records are maintained by the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives.
